SENATOBIA – Northwest broke open a close game with a big fourth quarter run here Thursday night at Howard Coliseum.
Leading 47-43, the Rangers started the final period with an 11-3 run and went to defeat the Bobcats, 63-48.
Jones falls to 4-12 overall and 0-5 in the MACCC. The Rangers are now 11-4 and 3-1.
Aasia Wilson (West Jones) was the only Bobcat in double figures with 12 points. She also had five rebounds and two assists.
Chrystianna Beeman (Pelahatchie) and
La'Genesis Johnson (Choctaw Central) each had nine points and
Khyla Ragins (Harrison Central) added eight.
Valencia McFall (St. Martin) had nine rebounds and Johnson added eight boards.
Kae'la Mitchell had 19 points for Northwest and Zaria Glover had nine rebounds.
Jones hosts Southwest in a 5:30 p.m. game on Monday.
Northwest hosts Southwest on Saturday and visits Mississippi Delta on Monday.
