POPLARVILLE – In a great battle Friday night against the Wildcats, a whistle in the 77th minute ultimately decided the game.
Jones was whistled for a questionable foul call on light contact in the box and PRCC was awarded a penalty kick. Frederikke Nielsen then stepped up and delivered from the spot for the game's only goal.
Two hand balls in the box from PRCC went uncalled during the match that should have also resulted in penalty kicks for Jones.
PRCC out-shot Jones 13-7, including 7-3 on net. The Wildcats drew nine corners to Jones' two.
The Bobcats managed just three shots on goal, all stopped by Natasza Koper.
Scarlette Roberts played the opening 45 for Jones but gave way to
Gracyn White in the second half after an injury.
Jones closes out the regular season on Tuesday hosting No. 20 Gulf Coast. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
