ELLISVILLE – After winning two, tight 25-23 sets to start the match, Jones stumbled down the stretch in a 3-2 defeat to Itawamba Wednesday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
The Indians rallied with 25-17, 25-21 and 15-7 wins in sets 3-through-5 to win the first-ever meeting.
Itawamba improved to 12-8, 3-1 MACCC while the Bobcats dropped to 12-5, 2-2.
Bree Lyons and Lexi Pendleton combined for 29 of ICC's 49 kills to help Itawamba rally.
Jones committed 16 errors over the final three sets against 23 kills. Jones' 28 total errors was second-most this season.
Lexie Drace had her second double-digit kill effort of the season with 14, one shy of her season-high.
Mamie Fromdahl had 26 assists and game-high six blocks.
Adelaide Egner had 17 assists and 12 digs.

Annie Woolbright had two aces each.
Jones continues a six-match homestand on Saturday, welcoming Coastal Alabama-North for a 1/3 p.m. doubleheader.
