ELLISVILLE – Jones led by as many as 29 points in the opening half and had four starters finish in double figures in an 87-63 win Tuesday night over Baton Rouge.
The game was originally scheduled for Monday, but postponed to Tuesday due to area weather.
Jones improved to 12-3. BRCC fell to 7-10.
The Bears led 5-4 at the 17:20 mark before two
Kylan Howze free throws put Jones on top for good.
The Bobcats strung together a 24-6 run over the next 10 minutes to increase its lead to double figures.
Courtney McCarthy's three-pointer at the buzzer made it 51-28 Bobcats at the half.
Dimp Pernell had 16 of his 21 in the first and
Ky Pernell had 11 of his 20 points.
Jones' lead never fell below 18 points the final 20 minutes.
Behind 21 and 20 from the Pernell brothers,
Chaunterion Ward had 15 points,
LJ Hackman had 12,
Malik Franklin added eight and
Shane Davis pulled down five rebounds in six minutes.
