UTICA – Held to two points in the second quarter, Jones trailed by 20 at the half and never threatened in a 62-40 setback in the MACCC opener Thursday night at J.D. Boyd Gymnasium.
Hinds improved to 6-5, 1-0 in the conference. Jones dropped to 4-8, 0-1 in its first loss to the Bulldogs since 2003.
The Bobcats trailed 17-10 after one quarter.
La'Genesis Johnson's putback with 8:42 left in the second quarter were the only points for Jones as they fell into a double digit hole.
Jones shot a season-worst 23 percent against 47 percent for Hinds.

Chrystianna Beeman and Johnson led the way with nine points apiece. Johnson added 13 boards and
Aasia Wilson chipped in 12 rebounds.
Hinds was paced by 20 points off the bench from Jayiah Ransom.
The Bobcats host undefeated Itawamba (12-0) on Monday, January 22 at 5:30 p.m.
