Cheer claims third UCA Open Coed National Title in four years

ORLANDO – Let the dynasty begin.

For the third time in four years, Jones College cheer has been crowned UCA National Champions in the Open Coed Division.

All three championships have come since 2021.

"This team was focused, confident, calm and determined," 13th year head coach Kayla Hankins said. "This program is family, they're special, and I'm lucky to coach them."

Jones finished with a score of 92 in the finals to best Shelton State (86) and Iowa Western Community College (82.2) to win the division.

Last year's squad placed third of three programs, added motivation for this year's performances.

Jones now owns open coed championships in 2021, 2022 and 2024.

"I'm thankful to have the best family, administration and coaches alongside me that were my athletes and teammates," Hankins continued. "Without their support and love, none of this would be possible."

The team will be welcomed back Monday, Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. at Jones Hall with a celebration.
