DECATUR – Three goals in the final 11:20 of the match helped No. 4 Jones beat East Central 4-0 and close out a fourth consecutive clean sheet on Friday night at the EC Soccer Complex.

The Bobcats improved to 6-0, 3-0 in the MACCC and the Warriors fell to 2-4-1, 1-2 in conference play.

Hilary Jaén's 11th minute goal off a Lauren Carothers cross into the box gave Jones a 1-0 lead that would hold for the next 68 minutes.

An offensive onslaught the final minutes of the match turned what was a competitive game into a lopsided final result. 

Jaén scored in the 79th minute, assisted Gemma Whitchurch on her nifty goal in the 86th minute and Celine Ottah netted a free kick in the 89th minute to cap the scoring.  

EC managed just one first half shot and it was saved by Jona Hennings.

The final shot tally was 12-1 in favor of Jones who also drew eight corners to the Warriors' one.

After six road matches to open the season, Jones will finally play its first regular season home match on Tuesday, Sept. 26 against 13th ranked Copiah-Lincoln.
