ELLISVILLE – Former Region 23 foes LSU Eunice and Jones faced off for the first time since 2019 on Friday night in a match that lived up to its Top 10 billing.
The Tigers (4-0) found the game-winner with 48 seconds left on Siddiq Lezzar's header to steal the 1-0 victory and hand Jones (2-1-1) its first home defeat in 13 matches.
Shots were at a premium, with both sides held to four on goal. The final shot tally was 13-11 in favor of the Bengals.
Joshua Goodwin made his first career start for the Bobcats and had three, first half saves.
Jones has a quick turnaround, hosting Andrew College tomorrow at 6 p.m.
