ELLISVILLE – It was a top 10 "Catfight" showdown here at Community Bank Park/Gwen Magee Field Tuesday evening and No. 7 Jones College came out on top.
 
Nia Luckett (Philadelphia) tossed a two-hit shutout in the opener as the Bobcats won, 3-0 over No. 9 Pearl River. In the nightcap, 
Lauren Lindsey (Mobile, Alabama) slugged a two-run home run and Jones completed the sweep with a 5-1 decision.
 
The Bobcats, winners of 17 straight, lead the MACCC with a 22-2 record and are 38-6 overall. Jones visits Itawamba for a 3 p.m. doubleheader on Friday and hosts Northwest in a 3 p.m. doubleheader on May 2 to end conference play.
 
Pearl River, 36-11 and 18-6, hosts Northwest on Friday.

Kathryn Smith (Luling, Louisiana) hit a solo home run in the second inning to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead. She now has a team-leading 16 roundtrippers on the season.
 
Jones added two more runs in the sixth when Luckett singled and 
Aaliyah Dixon (Hillcrest Christian) reached on an infield single. Lindsey's single to right scored Luckett and Dixon came home on an error.
 
Luckett struck out six and walked six as she improved to 10-2.
 
Smith homered and singled with Luckett, Dixon, Lindsey, 
Carly Lewis (Jackson Prep) and 
Landry Dupont (Bogalusa, Louisiana) adding singles.
 
Natalie Herrington pitched 5.0 innings and got the loss, falling to 12-5. She allowed two earned runs, seven hits, walked none and struck out none. Bella Crawley tossed the final inning.
 
Dallyn Nance doubled and Destiney Gary singled for PRCC's only two hits.

Holly Craft (Raleigh) outdueled Brinson Anne Rogers as Jones won game two.
 
Craft went all 7.0 innings, allowed one run, three hits, walked one and struck out eight. The Southern Miss signee is now 13-1 on the year.
 
Rogers allowed five runs (two earned), five hits, walked three and struck out five as she dropped to 16-3.
 
Jones took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Luckett led off with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Dixon walked and Luckett went to third on a passed ball. Dixon stole second and a throwing error allowed both runners to score.
 
In the third, Dixon battled her way on with a walk and Lindsey followed with her 51st career home run to put the Bobcats ahead 4-0.
 
Jones made it 5-0 in the fifth when, with two outs, Luckett singled and Dixon walked. A throwing error allowed Luckett to score.
 
PRCC got a run in the sixth when Natalie Toups singled, went to second on a ground out and scored on Gary's single.
 
Luckett singled twice for Jones, Lindsey homered and Lewis and Craft added singles.
 
Gary, Toups and Julianah Overstreet each singled for the Wildcats.
