ELLISVILLE – Going for its second straight NJCAA Region 23 title on Saturday morning against rival Gulf Coast, Jones took two of three doubles courts but stumbled in singles play as the Bulldogs rallied for a 5-2 victory to claim the region's automatic bid to the national tournament.
It's the second title in three seasons for MGCCC, both coming against Jones.
The Bulldogs (14-5) trailed 2-1 after doubles but got wins at No.'s 1-3 singles to clinch the match.

Jackson Peoples lost 8-4.
MGCCC tied the match at 2-2 with Triston Hill's 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles over Do.
Peoples and Bevard were leading at No. 4 and No. 5 singles when MGCCC clinched the win.
Jones (19-5) will join Gulf Coast and Meridian in McKinney, Texas, May 15-19.
