ELLISVILLE – Fifteenth-rated Jones College rallied to edge Millsaps 5-4 here Saturday at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
Jones is now 12-0 on the year and Millsaps drops to 0-2.
The Majors won two of the doubles' points.
Tomi Nader (Argentina) and
Wallace Brewer (Germantown) beat Jakub Bobinski and Carson Chassaignac in No. 1 doubles, 8-4.
Charlie Brady (Australia) and
Tanner Bevard (Sacred Heart) dropped a tight, 7-8 decision to Trevor Vaccaro and Sam Tuli in No. 2 doubles.
Jackson Peoples (Northwest Rankin) and
Dawson Do fell to John Kimball and Hamilton Jackson in No. 3 doubles, 5-8.
The Bobcats bounced back in singles.
Nader defeated Vaccaro in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1 and Brady whipped Chassaignac in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-2. Bevard beat Jackson in No. 4 singles, 6-4, 5-7, 10-0 and Peoples defeated Tuli in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 3-6, 10-0. Brewer fell to Kimball in No. 2 singles, 5-7, 6-4, 4-10 and Do lost a hard-fough, 6-2, 3-6, 10-12 decision to Kells Hecht in No. 6 singles.
