ELLISVILLE – The 14th-ranked Jones College Bobcats blanked No. 24 Copiah-Lincoln, 9-0, here Thursday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
Jones is now 14-2 overall and 9-0 in the MACCC. The Bobcats will compete in the Sumter Juco Invitational in Sumter, South Carolina, March 31-April 1.
Co-Lin, 3-7 overall and 2-5 in the MACCC, hosts Meridian on Tuesday.
Tomi Nader (Argentina) and
Wallace Brewer (Germantown) edged Valentino Millimaci and Marco Kalbermatten in No. 1 doubles, 8-6.
Tanner Bevard (Sacred Heart) and
Charlie Brady (Australia) beat Lawson Pearson and Landon Banes in No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
Jackson Peoples (Northwest Rankin) and
Prescott Schaumberg (Indianola Academy) defeated Caleb Myers and Colton Fuqua in No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
Nader whipped Kalbermatten in No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0, and Brewer edged Millimaci in No. 2 singles, 6-4, 3-6, 10-8. Brady defeated Pearson in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-0, and Bevard downed Myers in No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-2. Peoples beat Banes in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-2, and
Dawson Do (Northwest Rankin) blanked Case in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
