ELLISVILLE – The 11th-rated Jones College Bobcats returned from spring break with a 9-0 win over Northwest here Tuesday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
Jones is now 14-1 overall and remains perfect in the MACCC at 8-0.
In No. 1 doubles,
Guadalupe Tocci (Argentina) and
Daniela Tovar (Venezuela) blanked Raney Peacock and Holly Stewart, 8-0.
Maggie Savell (Park Place Christian Academy) and
Allie Johnson (Hernando) defeated Amelia Anding and Grace Ann Wade in No. 2 doubles, 8-3, and
Michaela Anderson (Tupelo) and
Reagan Salter (Lewisburg) defeated Rivers Tarsi and Lia Ramos in No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
Tocci dominated Anding in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, and Tovar whipped Stewart in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Savell downed Wade in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-1, and Johnson defeated Peacock in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Annalyn Housley (Nettleton) blanked Rivers in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0,and Anderson beat Ramos in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Jones travels to New Orleans on Wednesday to face NAIA foes, Loyola and Dillard. The Bobcats host No. 24 Copiah-Lincoln at 2 p.m. Thursday.
Northwest, 2-7 and 2-4, hosts Itawamba Thursday.
