Lauren Lindsey set the Jones College school record for home runs as the No. 5 Bobcats took two from Hinds here Wednesday afternoon at Rene T. Warren Field.
Lindsey hit her 44th career home run in the opener as Jones won, 9-3. The Bobcats followed that up with a 10-0, five-inning win in game two.
The Bobcats, 19-4 overall and 4-0 in the MACCC, host East Mississippi in a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday.
Hinds, 3-19 and 0-4, hosts Coahoma Saturday.
Jones 9, Hinds 3
Lindsey added a double and a single in the opener. The sophomore from Mobile, Alabama, also owns the school career record for doubles (42) and hits (174).
The Bobcats led 6-0 after three innings and 6-3 after six.
Sadie Wells (Loranger, Louisiana) and
Gabby Hoffman (Florence) also homered for Jones. Wells also singled twice.
Nia Luckett (Philadelphia),
Carly Lewis (Jackson Prep) and
Elise Jackson (Purvis) each had two singles.
Kathryn Smith (Luling, Louisiana) added a single.
Luckett went the first 6.0 innings and got the win, improving to 5-1. She allowed four hits, walked four and struck out 11.
Holly Craft (Raleigh) tossed the final inning and got a strikeout.
Jones 10, Hinds 0 (5inn.)
Hanna Zeitz (Clinton Christian Academy) had nine strikeouts in 4.0 innings and upped her record to 7-2.
Meg Vinson (DeSoto Central) made her collegiate debut and had three strikeouts in one inning of work.
Luckett doubled and singled twice and Lewis tripled, singled and drove in three runs. Smith doubled and had two RBIs with

Aaliyah Dixon (Hillcrest Christian), Hoffman and Jackson adding singles.
The Bobcats led 2-0 after one, 8-0 after two and 10-0 after four.
