Hanna Zeitz threw a combined 8.2 shutout innings and
Lauren Lindsey homered twice to help propel No. 5 Jones to a sweep on opening day.
The Bobcats defeated Coastal Alabama-South, 5-0, and Snead State, 5-4.
Jones, 2-0, travels to Eunice, Louisiana, on Saturday for games vs. LSUE and Bossier Parish.

Zeitz threw a complete-game, five-hit shutout with six strikeouts and Lindsey hit a two-run homer in the third to help Jones shutout the Sun Chiefs.
A three-run fourth put the game out of reach.
Nia Luckett had an RBI-single and later scored on
Carly Lewis' single and
Landry Dupont would reach and score on an error.
The Sun Chiefs loaded the bases in the seventh but were stranded on a lineout.

A four-run Bobcat lead was erased in the sixth when the Parsons scored four runs, but
Gabby Hoffman would deliver a sac fly in the bottom of the frame to lift JC to the win.
Luckett was 3-for-4 and put the Bobcats on the scoreboard in the third before Lindsey's solo homer made it 2-0.
Kathryn Smith's RBI-triple and a double steal attempt made it 4-0.
Lydia West's leadoff double got the Parsons going in the sixth and would be followed by RBI-hits from Zoe Payne, Julia Hurley, Riley Sharp and Janiah Anderson that tied the game at 4-4.
Holly Craft was relieved by Zeitz in the circle and the sophomore was able to get a pair of groundouts.
Aaliyah Dixon stretched out an infield double and would come around to score on Hoffman's sac fly to make it 5-4.
Zeitz then induced a game-ending 5-4-3 double play to preserve the win.
