BOONEVILLE – No. 10 Jones led by 20 at the break and never looked back in a runaway at Northeast's Bonner Arnold Coliseum Monday night.
Jones won its 11th straight game to improve to 17-3, 9-0 and now turns its attention to Pearl River (19-1) Thursday night in what is likely to decide this year's MACCC Championship.
PRCC won the regular season last year and Jones would win its fifth MACCC title in six years a week later under
Missy Bilderback.
The Bobcat lead was 22-19 after one quarter and they'd start to pull away in the second quarter with a 25-8 edge.
Sakyia White had 18 of her game-high 23 in the opening half and
Meloney Thames added a dozen.
Eleven different Bobcats found the scoring column, including
En'Dya Buford with 17 points, seven assists and five rebounds and
Arianna Patton and
Nakyah Jones with eight points apiece.
A short-handed Northeast squad of six players was led by Alexis Rowe with 20 and Jasmine Malone with 19.
