TUCSON, Ariz. – Jones will play for its first-ever NJCAA Division II Women's Soccer National Championship on Saturday.
The top-ranked Bobcats avenged their lone loss of the season to Holmes back on Oct. 24 with an emphatic 4-0 victory in Thursday's national championship semifinal.
Jones, 16-1-1, will meet Johnson County, 18-3-2, on Saturday at 1 o'clock in the first-ever meeting between the programs. It's the Lady Cavaliers' second national championship game appearance and first as a DII program.
Celine Ottah struck for her third goal of the tournament in the 29th minute to give Jones the lead, back heading in a free kick from
Riley Davis.
Davis' corner kick in the 42nd minute was briefly punched away by the Bulldog keeper but
Lauren Carothers was there to strike it in for a 2-0 lead.
Holmes' two chances in the second half were both denied by
Jona Hennings.

Davis then capped the scoring in the 84th minute when her corner kick was mishandled by the keeper and found the back of the net.
Jones outshot Holmes 7-3 on goal in the victory.
The Bobcats snapped a three-game losing streak to the Bulldogs and shut them out for the first time since 2015.
