ELLISVILLE – It was a mismatch from the get-go.
Jones scored 2:11 in and got goals from seven different Bobcats to run past East Mississippi Tuesday night 11-0.
The Bobcats, ranked No. 4 in the NJCAA and now 12-0, 9-0 MACCC kept EMCC winless in its first season back since 2009.
Gemma Whitchurch scored the first two goals of the match and closed out her hat-trick in the 55th minute.
Meg Giachelli scored back-to-back in a 51-second span for her first two goals of the season,
Jewel Hamilton netted the first of her Bobcat career and
Mary Bradley McCardle scored her third to give Jones a 6-0 lead at the half.
The offense continued to roll in the second half, with
Hilary Jaén scoring her 14th goal in the 49th minute.
Boo Mills' penalty kick in the 64th minute was her first of the year and
Irianna Evans scored the final two goals to cap an 11-0 win in the 74th and 85th minutes.
Jones outshot EMCC 59-1 and drew a dozen corners.
Despite giving up nine goals, Daniela Pinzon was relentless in net for EMCC. She finished with 24 saves before leaving with an injury.
Scarlette Roberts played all 90 minutes and stopped the only shot she faced.
Jones now turns its attention to the biggest two games on the schedule, a road trip to No. 1 Northwest Mississippi on Friday and hosting last year's national runner-up and third-ranked Holmes on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
