CUTHBERT, Ga. –
Yussef Hakmaoui scored a pair of first-half goals and No. 13 Jones would go on to rout Andrew College 5-0 on Friday in the season-opener for both teams.
The Bobcats outshot the Fighting Tigers 28-5, including 16-3 on goal.
Hakmaoui scored in the 28th and 42nd minutes to give Jones a 2-0 lead at intermission.
Samuel Hadley found the head of
Miguel Magagnin on a nice cross into the box to make it 3-0 Jones in the 56th minute.
Alex Rangel and
Taylor Richardson would follow with goals in the 75th and 88th minutes to close out the lopsided win.
Tyler Harris stopped all three shots he faced in 75 minutes between the posts.
Griffin Bailey was in net the final 15 minutes.
Jones also owned an 11-2 edge in corner kicks.
Monday's scheduled exhibition against Mississippi College has been postponed. Jones returns to action Friday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. vs. Patrick & Henry.
