RAYMOND – One out away from a sweep of Hinds at Joe G. Moss Field Tuesday night, a triple and wild pitch allowed the Eagles to force extras where they would walk-off to a 2-1 win to split a pair. Jones won the opener, 7-3, behind a strong performance from
Colby Tubre.
Jones moved to 27-15, 14-12 in conference play. Hinds moved to 25-15 and 18-8 in the MACCC.
The Bobcats will close out the regular season on Friday, hosting Holmes for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.

A six-run second inning was more than enough offense for Tubre and Jones as they rolled to a game one win.
Hinds struck first on Vantrel Reed's RBI-single.
Back-to-back one-out walks in the second helped jumpstart the big inning for the Bobcats.
Murray Hutchinson,
DeeJay Booth and
Tyler Ducksworth all followed with RBI hits to make it 4-1. Two hit-by-pitches and an error made it 6-1 Jones.
Scoreless over the next three innings,
Andrew Jones' RBI-single made it 7-1 after six.
Tubre scattered five hits, three runs, six strikeouts and four walks over 6.1 innings to improve to 5-1 on the year.
Drew Druckenmiller tossed the final 2.2 scoreless innings.
Seven different Bobcats had a hit, led by Jones' 2-for-4 game and two hits from Hutchinson.

Clinging to a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the seventh, a two-out triple and wild pitch helped Hinds rally for extra innings where Gavin Mink's RBI-single in the eighth lifted the Eagles to a split.
Booth's RBI-single in the first provided the lone scoring until the final inning.
Kade Keeton allowed one run on seven hits with 10 strikeouts in a no-decision.
Luke Lycette was hit with the loss in one relief inning.
Ducksworth had two hits to lead Jones.
Kendrick Bershell got the win for Hinds in relief of Connor Nation who went 7.0 for the Eagles.
