ELLISVILLE – No. 14 Jones College cruised to a 7-2 decision over No. 23 East Central here Friday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
The Bobcats are now 15-0 overall and 12-0 in the MACCC. Jones will not play again until after Spring Break when they host Loyola (Louisiana) in a noon match on March 23.
The Warriors are now 8-6 overall and 6-5 in the conference. They host Hinds on March 22.
The Bobcats swept the doubles points.
In No. 1 doubles,
Tomi Nader (Argentina) and
Nacho Vanecek (Argentina) won an exciting, 9-8 (9-7) duel over Dominic Simunovic and Joseph Fletcher. In No. 2 doubles,
Tanner Bevard (Sacred Heart) and
Jackson Peoples (Northwest Rankin) beat Ian Gordon and Orren Ladner, 8-2. In No. 3 doubles,
Wallace Brewer (Germantown) and
John Jabour (Warren Central) defeated Samuel Turner and Kaleb Parish, 8-2.
Vanecek beat Ladner in No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-1 and Bevard whipped Steed Springfield in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Trey Hilton (Pearl) blanked Gordon in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and Peoples downed Springfield in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1. In No. 1 singles, Nader lost to Simunovic, 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-10. Brewer fell to Fletcher in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 4-6, 8-10.

Prescott Schaumberg (Indianola Academy) defeated Garrett Crimm, 8-3.
Jack Owens (Brandon) dropped a 3-8 decision to Luke Sanders and
