ELLISVILLE – No. 15 Jones College rolled to a 9-0 decision over the Coastal Alabama-South Sun Chiefs here Monday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
The Bobcats, 7-0, return to MACCC play with a 2 p.m. Tuesday match in McComb vs. Southwest. Jones will go to Mississippi Gulf Coast for a 2 p.m. match on Friday.
The Sun Chiefs are now 2-3 and travel to Wallace State-Hanceville (Alabama) on Feb. 25.
Jones opened up the match by winning the three doubles' points.
Andrea Vlasceanu (Spain) and Mia Hödinghaus (Germany) beat Joanna Atchley and Emma Pager 8-2 in No. 1 doubles.
Addy Seward (Richland) and
Michaela Anderson (Tupelo) defeated Carlee Teague and Alyssa Steed in No. 2 doubles, 8-5.
Allie Johnson (Hernando) and
Sophie Endt (Vancleave) whipped Emma Spears and Taji Williams in No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
Vlasceanu blanked Teague in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and Höddinghaus downed Atchley in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2. Seward shut out Pager in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and Johnson beat Imani Ivory in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-3. Endt bounced back to defeat Steed in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 0-6, 10-6 and
Reagan Salter (Lewisburg) beat Williams in No. 6 singles, 7-6 (5), 6-1.
