ELLISIVLLE – No. 16 Jones College hammered Holmes 9-0 here on a sunny Friday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
The Bobcats are now 6-0 and will be at home for a 1 p.m. Monday match vs. Coastal Alabama-South. Holmes falls to 1-4 and hosts Mississippi Gulf Coast on Tuesday.
Tomi Nader (Argentina) and
Nacho Vanecek (Argentina) blanked Trey Hallmark and Ethan Woolridge in No. 1 doubles, 8-0.
Tanner Bevard (Sacred Heart) and
Jackson Peoples (Northwest Rankin) shut out J.D. Camillo and Carter Knowles in No. 2 doubles, 8-0.
Trey Hilton (Pearl) and
John Jabour (Northwest Rankin) defeated Trace Dye and Carson Jones in No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
In an extra match,
Prescott Schaumberg (Indianola Academy) and
Jack Owens (Brandon) won, 8-2.
Nader whipped Hallmark in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and Vanecek downed Knowles in No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Peoples blanked Dye in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and Hilton shut out Camillo in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Schaumberg defeated Jones in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-3 and Jabour downed Woolridge in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
