MARION, Ala. – Sophomore transfer
Jay Barnes scored a career-high 24 points to lead four Bobcats in double figures as Jones knocked off Marion Military 86-79 Tuesday night at the Ireland Center.
Jones improved to 2-0 on the young season while MMI fell to 1-1.
The game was close throughout. Jones led 42-38 at the break.
Caleb McGill scored 12 of his 19 points in the second half and Barnes a dozen.
Both teams shot it well, with Jones shooting 56 percent from the floor and 13-of-27 from downtown. MMI shot 51 percent.

Treylan Smith had 12 points and 10 rebounds and
Ashton Campbell 12 points and five assists.
Anthony Bryant and Quandre Burroughs scored 32 and 24 to lead the Tigers.
Jones will host Mississippi Gulf Coast (2-1) Friday night at 6 o'clock.
