EUNICE, La. – Jones opened up a seven-game stretch away from Ellisville with a solid win Saturday afternoon over Murray State College, 82-68, at LSU Eunice's HPRE Center.
Jones improved to 3-1 and dropped the Aggies to 3-2.
Trailing 21-20 after a quarter, the Bobcats outscored the Aggies by six over the next two quarters to take a double digit lead into the fourth.
Meloney Thames continued her stellar play with a team-high 23 points and was followed by 20 points and 19 rebounds from
Sakyia White and 14 apiece from
Carly Keats and
Arianna Patton.
Jones hit a season-high 12 three-pointers, four apiece from Thames, Patton and Keats.
Bella Peterson had 24 to lead four Murray State scorers.
Jones shot 41 percent against 36 percent for the Aggies.
Jones will travel to Pensacola, Florida, next weekend for a pair of games against Pensacola State and Tallahassee.
