ELLISVILLE – Caragan Childs netted a second half hat-trick and No. 5 Jones cruised to a 6-0 region tournament quarterfinal win Friday night over Meridian.

Jones, 11-1-2, has now won 23 straight over the Lady Eagles, six consecutive via shutout. 

The Bobcats will host sixth-ranked Northwest on Friday at 5 o'clock, with the winner into the region tournament final on Sunday.

Izzie Scott's 8th minute goal gave Jones a 1-0 lead at the break.

Childs would score two goals in a 36-second span early in the second and added her third in the 87th minute to cap the hat-trick.

Josie Duncan and Poppy Binding also added second half goals.

Jones outshot Meridian 28-1. Makenna Yarrow was not tested in net.
