WESSON – In an NJCAA Top 20 women's soccer matchup Tuesday night at Stone Stadium, No. 5 Jones and No. 20 Co-Lin played to a 1-1 double overtime draw.
Jones moved to 8-1-2 and Co-Lin is now 10-2-2.
Anacia Leyland gave the Wolves the 1-0 lead off a free kick in the 39th minute and
Izzie Scott answered for the Bobcats in the 64th minute.
For a second time this season, Jones felt like it was probably robbed of a game-winner.
Minutes into the first overtime period,
Poppy Binding hit a strike from about 20 yards out that hit inside the top of the crossbar, off the goalkeeper's back and spun behind the line and back forward. Neither the AR or center referee agreed and the match would end after a second scoreless extra period.
Jones outshot Co-Lin 24-9, including 13-5 on goal. The Bobcats were whistled for 18 fouls and four cards against eight fouls and two cards for the Wolves.
Makenna Yarrow was injured 28 minutes into the match after a pair of saves and
Danae Fowler closed out the final 82 minutes with two saves and one goal allowed.
The Bobcats host Southwest Oct. 21 and Hinds Oct. 25 to close out the regular season schedule.
