Six different players score as No. 9 Jones beats Hinds, 7-0

ELLISVILLE – Six different players scored as No. 9 Jones College blanked Hinds, 7-0.
 
The Bobcats outshot the Eagles 44-1 in their home opener at Bobcat Soccer Field Tuesday evening.

It marked Dolores Deasley's 200th match as head coach at Jones, winning 156 of those.
 
Caragan Childs (Sumrall) started the scoring with a goal at 17:03 with Poppy Binding (England) getting an assist. Binding assisted Kendyl Terrell (Hattiesburg) at 28:33 and Anna Crane's (Pearl) goal at 31:55 made it 3-0 going into halftime.
 
Terrell added her second goal on a header on a corner kick from Taylor Glascoe (Brandon) at 57:20. Natasha Keen (England) scored at 62:07 and Bekah Baugh (Oak Grove) scored at 69:02 to make it 6-0. Baugh assisted Morgan Durning (Sacred Heart) at 83:09 to close it out.
 
Danae Fowler (Bay) played the opening half in goal and Abigayle Green (Starkville) played the second half. Hinds did not have a shot on goal.
 
Jones had eight corner kicks in the contest and Hinds had none. The Bobcats had 26 shots on goal and the Eagles had none.
 
Hinds' keeper Paula Argelaguet had 19 saves.
 
The Bobcats, 2-0, open MACCC South Division play with a 5 p.m. April 12 match at Pearl River.
 
Hinds, 0-2, hosts Itawamba on April 12.
