ELLISVILLE – Scoreless through the first 33 minutes, the floodgates opened for No. 10 Jones over the match's final 57 minutes with seven goals by four different Bobcats in a lopsided win over Copiah-Lincoln.
The Bobcats posted their fifth clean sheet in seven tries this season. Jones improved to 6-1 overall, 4-1 in the league, while Co-Lin remained winless in their first season back to action since 2017.
Poppy Binding got the scoring started in the 34th minute with the first of her three goals.
Acacia Rodriguez and
Kendyl Terrell followed in the 37th and 40th minutes as Jones led 3-0 at the break.
The Bobcats poured it on the final 45 with four more goals.
Binding completed her hat-trick with goals in the 51st and 89th minutes. Terrell grabbed her second in the 74th minute and
Delaney Cooley scored in the 85th minute.
The goal for Cooley was her first and 12th different goal scorer for Jones in seven matches.
Jones fired off 34 shots, 20 of them on net.
Danae Fowler (6-1) and
Baylee Boyette combined in net for the shutout.
