Bekah Baugh drills game-winner in 86th minute to beat Meridian

MERIDIAN – Scoreless through the match's opening 85 minutes, freshman Bekah Baugh drilled the game-winner with under four minutes to play to lift No. 11 Jones to a 1-0 win at Meridian Friday night.

Jones won its third straight match to improve to 5-1 overall, 3-1 in the league. Meridian fell to 1-5.

Baugh scored her third goal of the season and is the fourth different Bobcat in six matches to score the game-winner.

Jones fired 11 shots, eight of them on net. Meridian had just five shots.

Danae Fowler stopped all four shots she faced to improve to 5-1 with her fourth combined shutout. Meri Laci Archer stopped seven shots.

The Bobcats will host Co-Lin on Monday at 5 p.m. on JCJC-TV.
