ELLISVILLE – Adam Lynch (Sligo, Ireland) drilled a shot into the back of the net in the 41st minute to help No. 7 Jones College defeat No. 5 Mississippi Gulf Coast 1-0 here Friday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium/Sim Cooley Field.

The Bobcats are now 3-1 overall, 1-1 in the MACCC. The Bulldogs fall to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference. 
 
Peyton Wilbanks (Madison Central) went the distance in goal and got the shutout. He had two saves on the day. Isaiah Gore was in goal for Gulf Coast and had five saves.
 
Jones had 11 shots and six shots on goal. Gulf Coast took 15 shots with two shots on goal. 
 
The Bobcats had seven corner kicks and MGCCC had three. Jones was called for 11 fouls and Gulf Coast had nine.
 
The Bulldogs had seven yellow cards, including a postgame yellow. Jones had three yellow cards.
 
The Bobcats will host Southwest at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
 
Gulf Coast will entertain East Central on Sunday.
