ELLISVILLE – The Jones College Bobcats ended their pre-spring break schedule on a high note here Tuesday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
The Bobcats defeated East Central, 7-2. Jones is now 13-1 overall, 12-1 in the MACCC. Jones will play its next match at 1 p.m. on March 22 vs. Coastal Alabama-South.
East Central, 6-6, travels to Mississippi Gulf Coast on Friday.
Nacho Vanecek (Argentina) edged Isaac Santitto in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-7 (4), 10-8.
Trey Hilton (Pearl) whipped Chris Albert in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Daniel Panzica (Brookhaven) downed Ian Gordon in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Greyson Parman (Warren Central) beat Steed Springfield in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
Ryan Myers (Madison Central) defeated Garrett Crimm in No. 6 singles, 6-4, 6-4. In No. 1 singles,
Gaspar Meda (Argentina) lost a close match to Chris Lawrance, 6-4, 2-6, 4-10.
In extra matches,
Braxton Wallis (Brookhaven) downed Jonathan Calzadilla, 8-1.
John Jabour (Warren Central) beat Samuel Turner, 8-3.
Jack Owens (Brandon) defeated Jacob Gardner, 8-2.
Vanecek and Hilton beat Gordon and Crimm in No. 2 doubles, 8-2. Wallis and Jabour edged Springfield and Albert in No. 3 doubles, 9-7. Meda and Panzica lost 5-8 to Lawrance and Santitto in No. 1 doubles. In an extra match, Myers and Owens defeated Gardner and Turner, 8-6.
