ELLISVILLE –Jones College won its 10th match of the season here Thursday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
The Bobcats knocked off the Copiah-Lincoln Wolves, 6-3.
Jones improves to 10-1 overall, 9-1 in the MACCC. The Bobcats will meet Southwest in McComb at 2 p.m. Friday.
Co-Lin, 6-4, goes to Itawamba on Friday.
Jones opened the match with two wins in doubles.
Nacho Vanecek (Argentina) and
Trey Hilton (Pearl) whipped Skyler Rasberry and Lawson Pearson in No. 2 doubles, 8-2.
Braxton Wallis (Brookhaven) and
John Jabour (Warren Central) blanked Matthew Oster and John Ready in No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Gaspar Meda (Argentina) and
Daniel Panzica (Brookhaven) lost 4-8 to Julian Toloza and Julian Parada. In an extra match,
Jack Owens (Brandon) and
Greyson Parman (Warren Central) defeated Jacob Lofton and Tyler Leggett, 8-3.
Hilton beat Rasberry in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-3. Panzica whipped Ready in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Parman rallied past Pearson in No. 5 singles, 4-6,6-3, 10-8. Wallis defeated Oster in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 7-5. Meda fell to Toloza in No. 1 singles, 4-6, 4-6. Vanecek lost to Parada in No. 2 singles, 1-6, 4-6. In extra matches, Jabour downed Lofton, 4-0, 5-3, and Owens whipped Samuel Boutwell, 8-3.
