ELLISVILLE – No. 14 Jones College won its eighth straight match here Friday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Complex.
The Bobcats blanked the Hinds Eagles, 9-0.
Jones is now 15-1 overall and 13-1 in the MACCC. The Bobcats meet No. 10 Wallace St.-Hanceville (Alabama) Saturday in Meridian.
In No. 1 doubles,
Gaspar Meda (Argentina) and
Daniel Panzica (Brookhaven) beat
Kwanda Mbalekwa and Bryce Ramshur, 8-1.
Nacho Vanecek (Argentina) and
Trey Hilton (Pearl) defeated Chambers Bethea and Abraham Gonzalez in No. 2 doubles, 8-2.
Braxton Wallis (Brookhaven) and
John Jabour (Warren Central) whipped Jordan Paul and Justin Humphrey in No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
Meda outlasted Mbalekwa in No. 1 singles, 6-3, 5-7, 12-10. Hilton downed Paul in No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Panzica defeated Chambers in No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-3.
Greyson Parman (Warren Central) whipped Ramshur in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
Ryan Myers (Madison Central) defeated Humphrey in No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-4. In No. 6 singles, Wallis beat Dalton Jones, 6-1, 6-1. In extra matches, Jabour won 8-0 and
Jack Owens (Brandon) won, 8-2.
