MERIDIAN – The 14th-ranked Jones College Bobcats dropped a 7-2 decision to No. 10 Wallace State-Hanceville (Alabama) here Saturday at the Northeast Tennis Center.
Jones, 15-2, will go to Copiah-Lincoln for its next match on April 6.
Wallace State, 7-3, visits Coastal Alabama-South on Tuesday.
Greyson Parman (Warren Central) and
John Jabour (Warren Central) won 8-6 in No. 3 doubles over Hudson Thompson and Vinicius Aragao.
Gaspar Meda (Argentina) and
Daniel Panzica (Brookhaven) lost 5-8 to Sebastian Gomez and Connor Coots in No. 1 doubles.
Braxton Wallis (Brookhaven) and
Trey Hilton (Pearl) fell 2-8 to Tristian Du Plessis and Eli Hagan in No. 2 doubles.
Wallis outlasted Aragao in No. 6 singles, 7-6, 2-6, 11-9. Gomez defeated Meda in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-1. Hilton fell to Coots in No.2 singles, 4-6, 3-6. Panzica lost to Du Plessis in No. 3 singles, 1-6, 5-7. Parman lost to Hagan in No. 4 singles, 0-6, 1-6.
Ryan Myers (Madison Central) dropped a 4-6, 1-6 decision to Thompson in No. 5singles.
