Ashton Campbell scored 17 of his game-high 23 in the first half and Jones led by as many as 16 on the night before the host Southwest Bears mounted a late rally to stun Jones, 75-73.
The Bobcats fell to 1-3 on the season, with their three losses by a combined 10 points. Southwest improved to 3-1.
Campbell hit five first-half threes to help give Jones a 45-36 lead at the break. They led 32-16 with 8:33 left in the period.
Leading 60-50 with 11:46 left in the game, Southwest strung together an 11-2 run, capped by a Querrion Gadson 3-pointer, to put the Bears on top 61-60.
The teams then traded seven leads down the stretch.
Jones led 73-72 with 57 seconds remaining before Michael Barber scored a layup and free throw with 39 seconds left to give Southwest the come-from-behind win.
Free throws was a major difference in the game, with Southwest connecting on 19-of-27 from the charity stripe and JC only getting to the line 12 times.
Tradavis Thompson had 20 points, 13 rebounds and five assists for his first career double-double to compliment Campbell's big night.
Both teams shot 41 percent from the floor. Southwest enjoyed a 14-point advantage at the free throw line.
Jones will stay on the road Monday, traveling to Meridian (2-2) for a 6 p.m. tip-off.
