HATTIESBURG – For a second straight matchup, Gulf Coast used a three-goal second half to erase a first half deficit and knock off Jones in its annual south division showdown.
Gulf Coast trailed 1-0 at the half and rallied to defeat Jones, 3-1, at Sacred Heart Athletic Complex on Wednesday night.
MGCCC improved to 6-3, 4-1 in the south to take over sole possession of second. Jones fell to 7-2, 3-2.

Tres Ray's shot that was blocked and hammered it home for an early 1-0 lead in the 9th minute.
The lead held through halftime before the Bulldog offense woke up.
Seongbin Son hit a streaking Michael Bell down the middle of the field to tie the match at 1-1 in the 54th minute. Two minutes and 20 seconds later, Ivan Gonzalez found the head of Klaidas Pudlauskas to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead.
Witwise Akyeano scored in the 70th minute off a scrum in the front of the net to make the final margin 3-1.
Jones was outshot 13-7 in the second half and never really threatened the final 45. The Bobcats' best chance came from
K.J. Mack in the 68th minute.
Jones will play host to No. 4 Pearl River next Tuesday, before facing Gulf Coast again next Friday in Perkinston.
