CLINTON – The 10th-ranked Jones College Bobcats continue to make history.

Missy Bilderback's Bobcats captured its fourth consecutive Region 23 Tournament championship with a convincing, 94-60 victory over Northwest Mississippi here Friday night in A.E. Wood Coliseum on the campus of Mississippi College.
Jones (24-4) will head to Lubbock, Texas, for the fourth straight year for the NJCAA Division I National Tournament March 16-21 at the Rip Griffin Center on the campus of Lubbock Christian University. Jones is officially the Gulf District champion.
The national tournament seeding and schedule will be announced on
www.njcaa.org at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
The heroes were many for Jones.
Jatyjia Jones (Pontotoc) led the Bobcats with 22 points and eight rebounds.
Chyna Allen (Harrison Central) had 15 points and a career-high 11 assists.
LaMiracle Sims (Moss Point) had 14 points and seven rebounds and
Destiny Haymer (Holmes County Central) had 12 points.
Daja Woodard (Mobile, Alabama) had nine points and 10 rebounds and
Jordan Clark (South Jones) had nine points and five rebounds.
Keyara Jones (Heidelberg) finished with seven points and six rebounds.
The Bobcats took control midway through the first quarter and were never threatened by the Lady Rangers.
A 3-point play by
Jatyjia Jones gave the Bobcats the lead for good at 11-8 with 5:18 to play in the first quarter. Haymer's 3-pointer at the buzzer gave Jones a 30-16 lead after the opening quarter.
The Bobcats continued the momentum into the second quarter and took its longest lead of the first half at 54-24 on a Clark jumper with 2:44 showing. Jones led 58-33 at halftime.
There was no letup in the third quarter as Jones took an 80-43 lead on a
Jatyjia Jones basket with 29 seconds to play in the period.
Jones' largest lead came with 7:04 left in the game at 89-47 on a Sims' layup.
The Bobcats had an exceptional shooting night, making 37-of-72 shots for 51 percent. They were 8-of-19 from 3-point range for 42 percent and connected on 12-of-16 free throws for 75 percent.
The Lady Rangers were only 23-of-71 from the field for 32 percent and hit 7-of-25 from beyond the arc for 28 percent.
Jones dominated inside, outscoring Northwest on points in the paint, 48-22, and outrebounding the Lady Rangers, 57-30.
Mallory Russell had 13 points for Northwest. Lindsay Hall added 11 and I'esha Mosby finished with 10.
Northwest ends the season at 17-10.
