Hot-shooting Bobcats thump Warriors, 93-65

ELLISVILLE – Jones College shot a blistering 60 percent from the field and crushed East Central 93-65 here Monday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
 
The Bobcats were 36-of-60 from the floor and made 7-of-16 3-point attempts.
 
Tradavis Thompson (Raymond) led the way with a career-high 20 points and was 3-for-3 from the 3-point line.
 
The Bobcats are 14-5 overall and 6-5 in MACJC South Division play.
 
ECCC led 8-3 early, but the Bobcats would take the lead for good when SharDarrion Allen (Raymond) made two free throws at 9:45 of the opening half to make it 22-21.
 
Leading 31-29 with just over four minutes to play in the half, the Bobcats used an 11-3 run to take a 42-33 lead at intermission.
 
The second half was all Jones.
 
A layup by John Rawls (East Marion) capped an 11-0 run and put the Bobcats head 67-47 with 10:08 remaining. Jones' longest lead would be the final margin.
 
Rawls had 13 points and Zachariah Malone (Shady Grove, Louisiana) had 10 points and nine rebounds. Kevin Charles (Metairie, Louisiana) had nine points and nine rebounds. Kenneth Rogers (Starkville) and Ladarius Anderson (Jackson Provine) finished with nine points each. Casey Smith Jr. (Columbus) and Rogers both had seven assists.
 
JaMichael Wilson had 14 points for the Warriors and Kareem Thompson added 12. ECCC was 27-of-82 from the field for 33 percent. The Warriors shot 33 3-pointers and made only six.
 
The Bobcats held a 52-36 rebounding margin.
 
Jones visits Southwest for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Thursday.
 
The Warriors, 8-12 and 3-8, entertain Meridian on Thursday.
