GOODMAN – The No. 24 Jones College Bobcats blanked Holmes 9-0 here Monday afternoon.
The Bobcats are now 8-3 on the season.
Erich Fischer (Wesson) and
Jacob Johnson (North Pike) blanked Nick Bails and Joshua Maughan in No. 1 doubles, 8-0.
James McWilliams (Northwest Rankin) and
Cody Courtney (Florence) downed Ben Skelton and Richard Hernandez in No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
Conner Henderson (Petal) and
Daniel Tanious (Laurel) won No. 3 doubles by default.
Fischer defeated Bails in No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1 and Johnson downed Maughan in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Courtney shut out Hernandez in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and McWilliams blanked Hernandez in No.4 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Tanious beat Skelton in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0 and Henderson won No. 6 singles by default.
The Bobcats will be at home at 2 p.m. on Wednesday against Southwest Mississippi. On Saturday, Jones hosts Copiah-Lincoln at 10:30 a.m. and Wallace St. (Alabama) at 2:30 p.m.
Holmes hosts Meridian on Tuesday.
