ELLISVILLE – The No. 25 Jones College Bobcats beat the Blue Mountain College Topper 7-2 here Saturday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex/Bobcat Tennis Courts.
The Bobcats swept the doubles' matches.
Jordi Morey (Spain) and
Noel Monsalve (Venezuela) defeated John Jimenez and Juan Silva in No. 1 doubles, 8-4.
Erich Fischer (Wesson) and
Jacob Johnson (North Pike) downed Zak Harbin and Eduardo Chagas in No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
James McWilliams (Northwest Rankin) and
Cody Courtney (Florence) beat David Garcia and Zaen Harbin in No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
Monsalve defeated Jimenez in No. 2 singles, 6-3, 3-6, 10-5 and Johnson downed Zak Harbin in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 4-6, 10-3. Courtney beat Juan Vargas in No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-4 and
Daniel Tanious (Laurel) rallied past Eduardo Chagas, 2-6, 6-2, 10-3. Morey lost to Silva in No. 1 singles, 2-6, 6-2, 7-10 and Fischer fell to Garcia in No. 3 singles, 1-6, 0-6.
In an extra match, Tanious and
Conner Henderson (Petal) defeated Eli Black and Dylan Austin, 8-2.
The Bobcats, 6-3, will visit Holmes for a 2:30 p.m. match on March 18.
Blue Mountain goes to Texas Lutheran on Monday.
