ELLISVILLE – The Jones College trailed Northeast Mississppi 22-11 midway through the first half of their MACJC Tournament semifinal game here Wednesday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
Jones then had an amazing 44-10 run and went on to beat the Tigersi, 89-72.
The Bobcats, 20-5, will play for its second state championship in three years when they face East Mississippi at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. EMCC upset No. 15 Pearl River 62-57 in the other semifinal game.
Jones will also play in the Region 23 Tournament March 5-9 at Mississippi College in Clinton.

Michael Williams Jr. (Rayville, Louisiana) basket gave Jones an early 8-2 lead with 17:39 left in the first half.
But the Tigers went on a 20-3 run and took a 22-11 lead with 11:00 showing in the first half when Antares Gwyn scored on a dunk.
The Bobcats then took control.

Kenneth Rogers (Starkville) 3-pointer from the right wing at 3:46 of the first half gave Jones the lead for good at 31-29. A Williams' basket with 20 seconds showing gave the
Bobcats a 47-32 halftime lead.
Another Williams basket with 13:30 remaining gave the Bobcats their longest lead of the night at 63-38.
The closest Northeast would get after that was 79-66 with 3:11 left on a Gwyn basket.
Rogers led the Bobcats with 23 points, including a 5-of-9 performance from 3-point range. Williams added 21 points. Alexander had another 'double-double' with 17 points and 16 rebounds and
David McCoy (Meridian) had 10 points.
Arthur Johnson paced the Tigers, 19-6, with 14 points, Gwyn added 13, Thomas Cain had 12 and Jamarcus Jones finished with 10.
Zachariah Malone (Shady Grove, Louisiana) had six rebounds and
David Gaines Jr. (Wayne County) added five. Williams had six assists.
The Bobcats were 28-of-59 from the field (10-of-29 from 3-point range) for 48 percent. Jones was 23-of-28 from the free throw line.
Northeast was 27-of-57 from the floor (7-of-25 from 3-point range) for 47 percent. The Tigers were only 11-of-21 from the free throw line.
The Bobcats outrebounded the Tigers, 40-31. Jones had 11 turnovers and Northeast had 12.
