BAY MINETTE, Alabama – The Jones College tennis teams had a successful day here Monday afternoon.
Both Bobcat teams posted 8-1 wins over Coastal Alabama-South.
The Jones teams will be back in action at 2 p.m. Wednesday vs. Mississippi Gulf Coast in what will be the home opener.
Coastal Alabama-South plays Snead State Thursday in Gadsden, Alabama.
Lady Bobcats 8, Lady Sun Chiefs 1
No. 17 Jones swept the doubles points as they improved to 3-1.
Mireia Jordan (Spain) and
Ariadna Jordan (Spain) beat Madison Stewart and Carmen Tidwell in No. 1 doubles, 8-3.
Judith Mills (South Pontotoc) and
Danielle Viljoen (Jackson) blanked Alyssa Lampitoc in No. 2 doubles, 8-0.
Dixie Lei Hodges (Laurel Christian School) and
Carley Cochran (Wayne County) beat Brooke Dotson and Kayley Groff in No. 3 doubles, 8-6.
Mireia Jordan defeated Stewart in No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-3.
Ariadna Jordan whipped Groff in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Viljoen blanked Lampitoc in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Mills rolled past Tidwell in No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-0. Hodges beat Dotson in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 7-5. In No. 6 singles Sarah Der-Ballout (MSMS) lost to Chloe Lynn, 1-6, 3-6.

No. 25 Jones jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles matches and never looked back.
Jordi Morey (Spain) and
Noel Monsalve (Venezuela) defeated Jacob Stokes and Nathan Walton in No. 1 doubles, 8-2.
Erich Fischer (Wesson) and
Jacob Johnson (North Pike) downed Julian Sanchez and Peyton Hickman in No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
James McWilliams (Northwest Rankin) and
Daniel Tanious (Laurel) beat Nathan Davis and Thomas Shaw in No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
Morey whipped Stokes in No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0. Fischer defeated Hickman in No. 2 singles, 7-6, 6-3. Johnson whipped Walton in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-2. McWilliams downed Sanchez in No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
Conner Henderson (Petal) defeated Davis in No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1. Tanious fell to Shaw in No. 5 singles, 5-7, 6-3, 4-10.
