Lady Bobcats down Pearl River in double OT; will host playoff game Tuesday

ELLISVILLE – Lucy Critchell's golden goal in the 105th minute gave Jones a 1-0 double overtime victory over Pearl River Friday night in Poplarville.

The win gives Jones an 11-6 overall record, 7-1 in the MACJC South Division. Pearl River also finished 7-1 in the division, but has the edge over Jones in the tiebreaker.

Alexis Wilson had six second-half saves, none bigger than in the final two minutes of regulation.

The Lady Bobcats will now meet East Central at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the playoff opener. ECCC is the North's No. 3 team. The game will air on JCJC.TV.

The winner of Tuesday's game will advance to the MACJC Tournament Oct. 26-27 at Hinds Community College in Raymond.
