ELLISVILLE – It was a battle of two of the nation's top teams here Friday evening at Bobcat Soccer Field.
No. 12 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs edged the 13th-ranked Jones College Lady Bobcats, 1-0. 
It was a rematch of last year's MACJC/Region 23 title game, but Holmes came out on top this time.
The only goal of the game came at 59:22 when Pepper Ann Filbert scored with Nikki De La Garza getting the assist.
Jones had several chances to tie it up the rest of the way, but could not score.
Alexis Wilson (Long Beach) was in goal for the Lady Bobcats.
Bailey O'Connor was in goal for Holmes.
The Lady Bobcats are now 7-2, while Holmes is 11-0.
The Bobcats resume MACJC South Division play on Wednesday at home with a 5 p.m. game vs. Southwest Mississippi. 
Holmes hosts Hinds on Wednesday.
