ELLISVILLE – The Jones College Lady Bobcats opened the 2018 season with a 4-0 shutout over East Central here Friday afternoon at Bobcat Soccer Field.
Jones took a 1-0 lead when Mikayla Banks (Vicksburg) scored off an assist by Judith Mills (South Pontotoc) at 15:24. Rachel Barnaby (Derry, Ireland) put the Lady Bobcats up 2-0 at 29:13 with Banks getting the assist. A short time later at 31:41 Aimee Durn (London, England) scored on a Barnaby assist.
The final goal came at 74:00 with Durn scoring off an assist by Madison LaFontaine (Pass Christian). 
Alexis Wilson (Long Beach) was in goal for the Lady Bobcats.
Jones,1-0, will host Northwest at 5 p.m. on Monday.
ECCC, 1-1, goes to Pearl River Tuesday.
