ELLISVILLE – No. 15 Hinds defeated No. 25 Jones County 7-2 here Tuesday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
JCJC's wins came in No. 2 doubles and No. 5 singles.
Noel Monsalve (Venezuela) and
James Estrada (St. Stanislaus) beat Eric Holmes and Jamal Holmes-Griffin 8-4 in No. 2 doubles.
Erich Fischer (Wesson) defeated Bryce Livingston in No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-2.
In No. 1 doubles, Carlos Trujillo and Mateo Garcia beat
Mitar Milosavljevic (Serbia) and
Cody Courtney (Florence), 8-3. In No. 3 doubles, Drew Rexrode and Livingston downed Fischer and
Jed Slover (Northeast Jones), 8-5. In an extra match, JCJC's
Daniel Tanious (Laurel Christian School) and
Conner Henderson (Petal) beat Aaron Galloway and Antonio Lambert, 8-3.
In No. 1 singles, Trujillo edged Milosavljevic, 6-3, 3-6, 10-6. In No. 2 singles, Garcia downed Henderson, 6-0, 6-0. Holmes defeated Courtney in No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1. In No. 4 singles, Rexrode edged Estrada, 7-6, 5-7, 10-8. In No. 6 singles, Galloway edged Tanious, 6-3, 6-7, 10-8.
The Bobcats, 6-10, go to Meridian for a 2 p.m. match on Thursday and will host Holmes in the final regular season match for "Sophomore Day" at 1 p.m. on Friday.
The Eagles end the regular season at 6-7.
