No. 25 Bobcats defeat No. 22 Lions

ELLISVILLE – The No. 25 Jones County Junior College Bobcats topped No. 22 Wallace St.-Hanceville (Alabama) 6-3 here Tuesday afternoon at the Howard Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
Jones won the three doubles points and split the six singles points.
In No. 1 doubles, Mitar Milosavljevic (Serbia) and Cody Courtney (Florence) beat Cade Pressnell and Luke Chigwidden, 8-5. In No. 2 doubles, Noel Monsalve (Venezuela) and James Estrada (St. Stanislaus) defeated Nick Hestor and Andrew Bisilia, 8-2. In No. 3 doubles, Erich Fischer (Wesson) and Jed Slover (Northeast Jones) downed Check Freeman and Austin Leavins, 8-6.
Monsalve beat Chigwidden in No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2. Fischer whipped Freeman in No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0. Daniel Tanious (Laurel Christian School) blanked Evan Johnson in No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Pressnell defeated Milosavljevic in No. 1 singles, 7-6, 6-3. In No. 3 singles, Hestor beat Courtney, 4-6, 6-1, 10-6. Bisilia downed Estrada in No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-3.
In an extra match, Conner Henderson (Petal) beat Leavins, 8-5.
The Bobcats are now 4-8.
JCJC will travel to Copiah-Lincoln for a 2 p.m. match on Thursday.
Wallace St. will host Coastal Alabama-South on April 5.
