POPLARVILLE – Pearl River edged Jones College 4-3 here Friday night at Wildcat Soccer Field.
The loss snapped a seven-game Jones winning streak.
The Bobcats are now 10-2 overall, 5-2 in the MACJC South Division. Jones will now finish either second or third in the division and play a quarterfinal match on Thursday. If they win that game, they would play in the MACJC Tournament, which will be in Ellisville.
The Bobcats end the regular season vs. Meridian at 7 p.m. on Monday at Bobcat Soccer Field. It will be "Sophomore Night" for Jones.
Pearl River is now 11-3 overall, 6-2 in the division.
If Jones beats Meridian on Monday, Pearl River will be the top seed. If Meridian beats Jones, Southwest will be the top seed.

Pearl River would take the lead on consecutive 'own goals' early in the second half. The first came in the 48
thminute and was credited to Joe Elliott, followed by another in the 50
thminute with Jevaun Ennis getting credit.
Bo Bowman gave Pearl River a 3-1 lead before
Justis Casey (Greene County) scored in the 70
thminute to make it 3-2. Elliott's goal in the 81
stminute gave PRCC a 4-2 lead.
Malachi Harrison (Northeast Jones) scored in the 87
thminute to cut the lead to 4-3. The Bobcats had an opportunity in the final minute, but were unable to convert.
Callum Harley (Whitley Bay, England) was in goal for Jones.
