PERKINSTON – The 16th-ranked Jones College Lady Bobcats have done it again.
Aimee Durn's (London, England) penalty kick goal in the 87th minute lifted Jones to a 1-0 win over Mississippi Gulf Coast here Tuesday evening at Bary Thrash Field. Alexis Wilson (Long Beach) was in goal for the entire game.
The victory clinches the MACJC South Division title for Jones, assuring them the host role in the MACJC Tournament. The MACJC Tournament will be held Oct. 20-21 at Bobcat Soccer Field. The pairings for the state tournament will not be released until after the quarterfinals are played at campus sites on Oct. 18.
Jones has now won three straight MACJC South Division crowns and it is the seventh division title in Deasley's 11-year tenure (2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018).
The Lady Bobcats, 9-2 overall and 6-0 in the division, go to Pearl River on Friday.
The Lady Bulldogs, 5-6-1 and 4-2-1, visit Southwest on Monday to end regular season play.
